Obituary

Celia (Cele) Harrmann, 95, of Bonduel, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Shawano Medical Center, with her daughters by her side. Born on March 18, 1917, she was the daughter of German immigrants Wilhelm and Rosamunda (Rode) Zeibart. Cele was fourth of six children and the first to be born in the farmhouse her father had built on their 80 acres north of Gillett in an area known as "Swedetown." Cele treasured the memories of her girlhood, and thanks to her skills as a storyteller and writer, she provided her descendants with a beautifully written and descriptive account of her parents' early life and her childhood on the farm. Cele worked as a housekeeper for several families in Gillett where she eventually met her future husband Wilbur (Bill) Harrmann. They were married June 24, 1944 and lived in Pulaski, where their daughter Anita was born. They later moved to Bonduel and their second daughter Willa Jean was born. In 1955 they built a home on a large, beautiful lot next to the Village Park and remained there for the rest of their lives. During their 34 years of marriage, Cele was a dedicated wife and mother, a terrific cook and a wonderful gardener. Her activities outside the home included Homemakers Club, Bonduel Women's Club (of which she was past-president), United Methodist Women, and several card clubs. She was a creative crafter of home décor, making lovely party decorations out of every-day household items. Cele also bowled regularly for 60 years, finally retiring at the age of 90. Another favorite hobby was playing cards, especially bridge; she belonged to four card clubs and continued to play - and win, until her illness in October. Cele was a gifted poet. She wrote poems for every member of the relation and presented them as birthday gifts - framed, decorated and especially created for each individual. She also wrote poems for her friends to honor their birthdays or 50th wedding anniversaries. Cele's poems could express a lifetime of memories. In addition, she wrote poetry on dozens of other subjects - nature, faith, history, current events, to name a few. As secretary of the Women's Club, she once presented the minutes of the group's Christmas meeting in the form of a poem. After her daughters were married, Cele worked in the kitchen at Bonduel Elementary School for 24 years. She enjoyed getting to know the children personally and was generous in giving them hugs. Cele was always up for an adventure and accompanied her daughters and their families on every summer vacation. She loved road trips and Sunday drives and would go anywhere in the state, often on a moment's notice. Her companionship and good nature were second to none. Above all, she was a steadfast friend and supporter of her two daughters and a proud and loving cheerleader for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was no end to her ideas of how to entertain us and make us feel special. Cele will be sadly missed by her daughters Anita (Robert) Chisholm of Bark River, Michigan, and Willa Rusch of Bonduel; her grandchildren and their families Kelly (Todd) Pszanka, Brooke and Darek; Traci (Mark) Hollister, Nick and Hannah; Patrick Runge; Christopher (Kirsten) Rusch, Evan and Conner; Jason (Jody) Rusch, Brady and Ava; Erika (Matthew) Reimer, Alex, Andrew and Aiden; and Jacob Rusch. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; stepson Kenneth Harrmann; son-in-laws Robert Rusch and Gene Graziano; four sisters and spouses Athensa and Julius Yanke, Erna and Emil Dietz, Ida and Rudy Lockstein, Agena and Richard Hayden; one brother William; in-laws and spouses Roger and Marcella Harrmann, Sylvester and Delores Harrmann, Onieta and Harry Breinig. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel, with the Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in the Town of Hartland. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
