Rusch, Sr.
October 12, 1930 – January 19, 2022
Charles E. Rusch, Sr. age 91, of Shawano, formerly of Land O' Lakes, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Charles was born in Shawano on October 12, 1930, to the late Carl and Lila (Olson) Rusch. Charles graduated from Shawano High School then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In the Navy he learned his trade working as a machinist. On November 13, 1954, Charles was united in marriage to Grace Koralewski in Milwaukee. Grace preceded Charles in death on August 8, 2007. Charles worked at Four-Wheel Drive in Clintonville for over 36 years before retiring. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying bow and gun hunting, fishing and ice fishing, and his many Idaho elk hunts. He was an active member of the Lac Vieux Desert Lake Association for many years.
Charles is survived by: children, Debbie (Perry) Parmer, Karen (Todd) Turner, Christine Braithwait, and Matt (Katie) Rusch; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as siblings, Sheila (Roger) DeBaker, Jack Rusch, and William (Sherry) Rusch. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding Charles in death are his wife, Grace Rusch; children, Charles Rusch, Jr., Kathleen "Kat" Rusch, and Sandra Flessert; as well as siblings, Dennis Rusch, Gail Rusch, Patricia Schultz, Robert Rusch, Neil Rusch, James Rusch, Sheldon Rusch, and Michael Rusch.
A Funeral Mass for Charles will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating. Military Honors will be conducted outside the church following the service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of the mass.
