Christina Lawe, age 80, passed away on Saturday November 4, 2023, surrounded by family in Appleton. Christina was born on January 19, 1943, in Keshena, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Weso) Wynos. She was united in marriage to John Lawe. Christina was a teacher at the Menominee Head Start for over 30 years where she was known by the name Miss Chris. In her younger years she enjoyed golfing. In her free time, Christina enjoyed attending pow wows with her family, was an avid Packer fan, going to the casino and playing slots. She was a strong, caring, loving and independent woman who will be truly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Christina is survived by her children, Rogerine (Gerhardt) Wychesit and Kevin Traxler; four granddaughters, Sabrina, Dolores, Sonja and Samantha; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joanne. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Christina is preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Mary LaRock; granddaughter, Cherena Warrington; grandson, George Daniels; and numerous siblings.
A funeral mass for Christina will be held at 11:00 am on Friday November 10, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit, with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be at Neopit Community Hall starting on Thursday November 9, 2023, at 1:00 pm and continuing until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
