Christopher T. Shames, age 26, of Bonduel, earned his Angels wings on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home.  He was born on November 12, 1989 to Elizabeth (Hale) Shames and Eric T. Shames.  Christopher was born with a heart defect and suffered a catastrophic brain injury in surgery as a toddler in 1992. He was cared for at home by his mother. Christopher had a faithful companion in his service dog, Gabe, whom he received from Canine Companions for Independence.

Christopher is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Shames of Bonduel; his father, Eric Shames of Westchester, NY; his grandmother, Jule Hale of Green Bay; two uncles, Dr. John (Marti) Hale and Gary Shames as well as his cousins, Jack, Kate, Julia, and David.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John P. Hale Esq. and his paternal grandparents, Terence and June Shames.

Memorial services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Rev. Luke Ferris officiating on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.  Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
