Clara Jean Fowler-Otto, age 79 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on August 26, 1934 in South Branch, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Louise (Pecore) Fowler. Clara began her employment at the Elgin State Hospital in Illinois. She later moved back home and worked as a CHR for the Menominee Restoration Committee. She then worked at the Menominee Tribal Clinic and finally at the College of the Menominee Nation where she recently retired. On November 17, 1990 she was united in marriage to Stanley Otto. For Clara, her family was always a priority. She loved spending time with them and always made sure her grandnieces had pickles. Clara also enjoyed traveling, relaxing at the casino, cooking and listening to country music. Clara is survived by: her husband, Stanley; her children, Perry (Carmen), Pete, Sanford; grandchildren, Basil, Caleb, Claire, Eli, Jenine, Nicole, Perry Jr., Tonya, Jacob, Trish, Joey; siblings, Eugene (Diane) Fowler, Sister Verna Fowler; in-laws, Ava Fowler, Diane (Ed) Sleger, Iris (Jerry) Bents, Dale (Lisa) Otto, Tim (Sheila) Otto, Bruce Otto, Sanford Hoffman, Buddy Maskewit; good friend, Sister Jeanette Trost; and numerous nieces and nephews. Clara was preceded in death by: her daughter, Patricia; her sons, Paul and Walter; 4 grandchildren; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Mabel Otto; and siblings, Marlene, Joan, Sanford Jr., Shirley, Bernard, Leon, Al, Calvin and Lewellyn. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Sister Stephanie Spence officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of the service.
