Connie Rae (Froelich) Huempfner, age 79, of Cecil, Wisconsin, died peacefully early Tuesday morning February 8, 2022 at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah. She was born on April 5, 1942 to the late Paul and Myrtle (Westerfeld) Froelich. Connie was a graduate of Bonduel High School with the class of 1960. After high school, she began a career as a bank teller at Farmers' State Bank of Cecil. When she retired, the bank was renamed Valley Bank. On August 21, 1977, she married Francis "Beaver" Huempfner. Connie was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cecil where she served as a Sunday school teacher and later attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Washington/Bonduel, WI. She was a member of the Cecil Lioness Club and also volunteered on Election Day. During their marriage, Connie and Beaver enjoyed attending Cecil Mudhens baseball games. Connie was an avid sports fan and followed the Brewers and the Bucks religiously. The last 13 years, she loved the companionship of her dog, Cuddles. They made many trips to Shawano together. Connie was known by her friends and family as "The Coke Gal" and over the years, collected many Coca Cola related items.
She is survived by her two nephews: Scott (Roxane) Cagle of Green Bay, and Steve Cagle of Pound, WI; two great-nieces: Makinzi (Leo) Meeks and their children, Eva, Adeline, and Croix Meeks; Meg (Damon) Stellmacher and their children, Greta, Vernon and baby to be, Caroline; Godson Nathan Orlando; and special friends John and Debbie DeStarkey.
Along with her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Beaver; her sister Sandy Cagle, and her brother and sister-in-law James and Kathy Froelich as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Bonduel from 4:00 – 6:30 pm on February 16, 2022 with a funeral service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to St. Paul's Lutheran Church has been established in Connie's name and donations may be directed to the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of ThedaCare Hospital and ThedaCare Hospice for the exceptional care of Connie.
