Connie P. Spiering, age 62 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her home. Born on May 13, 1951 in New London, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Lucy (Heffs) Shelley. Connie worked as a Nurse's Aid for many years. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing as well as camping. On September 6, 2003 she was united in marriage to Daniel Spiering in Oshkosh. Connie was a kind soul with a big heart who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Connie is survived by: her husband, Daniel; a son, Mark (Tracy) Phillips of Clintonville; 2 step sons, Joseph Spiering of Oshkosh, Troy Spiering of Shawano; 8 grandchildren, Brianna, Morgan, Parker, Bentley, Mercedes, Trumann, Desiree, Timothy; a sister, Lynn (Deano) Geer of Shawano; and a brother, Roger (Joan) Shelley of New London. Connie was preceded in death by: her son, DuWayne Phillips; her parents; and former husband, Kenneth Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Allen Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in the Danish Cemetery near Bear Creek.
