Cruz Richard "Setaemewinaeniw" Castro, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Cruz was born May 29, 1954, in Keshena to the late Santos and Elsie (O'Connor) Castro. He worked for Menominee Transit and enjoyed the company of his riders. Cruz was best known for his crazy sense of humor and his enormous sense of adventure. He loved to be around family, friends and plenty of food. Cruz enjoyed fishing on Bass Lake and taking an ATV ride in the woods.

Cruz is survived by his sons, Christian Castro, Danny Cruz (Megan Hibbard) Castro; daughter, Mykala (Jon Keller) Castro; granddaughter, Alicia Castro; great-grandson Giovanni; siblings, Carmen (Luis) Castro Garza, Christine (Ray) Smith, Craig (Carmen) Castro, Tina (Tom) Koehn, Cecelia Sanchez, and Abel (Phyllis) Castro. Cruz is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cruz is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Elsie Castro, brothers, Cornel Castro and David Castro.

A funeral service for Cruz will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Keshena Assembly of God, W2819 BIA Rte320, Keshena, WI 54135, with Pastor Matt Golie officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Lunch will be served at the church following services.
