Curtis Schneider, age 87, of Bonduel, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016. Born on February 15, 1929 in Shawano, he was the son of the late Elmer and Viola (Drage) Schneider.
Curtis graduated from Bonduel High School in 1946.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956 and served his country honorably until his discharge in 1958.
On June 28, 1959 was united in marriage to Corinne D. Groth in Hardwick, Minnesota.
Corinne preceded him in death on February 9, 2009.
Curtis worked as a dairy farmer for many years then spent time working for Farmer's Implement and Graf Creamery before starting Schneider Sharpening in 1992. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where he served as a trustee, as congregational chairman, as a member of the Northern Wisconsin District Board, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Men's Club.
Curtis also served on the Shawano Airport Commission, the Equity Oil Board, the Holstein Friesian Board, and on the Maple Lane Board of Directors.
Curt loved to sing and sung in several barbershop quartets and barbershop groups.
In his free time he enjoyed photography, traveling with his wife, and listening to barbershop music.
His biggest passion was for flying and anything to do with planes.
Curtis is survived by: three children, Janet (Charles) Yardley of Elmhurst, Illinois, Judith (Chris) Rank, of Cecil, and Andrew (Deb) Schneider of Shawano; two grandchildren, Lucas (Karen) Rank currently in Bangladesh and Peri Rank of Cecil; as well as a sister, Dorothy Krull of Bonduel.
He was preceded in death by his wife Corinne and his parents.
A funeral service for Curtis will be held at 5:00pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Timothy Shoup and Rev. Mark Palmer officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 2:00pm until the time of the service.
