Daniel "Danny" Waqsesāēh John Peters, Jr., age 33 of Keshena, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Danny was born on September 14, 1987 to Daniel John Peters Sr. and Lisa Marie Lyons in Shawano. He attended Menominee High School where he excelled as an athlete in basketball and football. While a member of the football team Danny was the schools all time leader in receiving yardage in a season and was the schools only 1,000-yard receiver in the history of the program. He graduated with the class of 2006. Danny was an athlete whose talents did not stop within school, outside of school he played basketball, volleyball, and enjoyed skiing. He had an amazing sense of humor and made everyone laugh. Danny was extremely personable and always had a smile on his face. Danny was an amazing father and loved his children unconditionally. He will be dearly missed by his family and his countless friends.
Danny is survived by the love of his life, Savannah Beyer; children, Maleeya Peters, Kenna Davids, Taaia Peters, and Pierce Peters; parents, Daniel John Peters, Sr. and Lisa Marie Lyons; siblings, Letisha Peters, Todd (Taylor) Peters, Megan Peters, Rachel Peters, Mason Cardish, and Peighton Lyons; nieces and nephews, Tyrese, Tylee Jo, Jace, Kaceon, and Noah; paternal grandmother, Elaine Peters; aunts and uncles, Myrna W., Steve, Twila (Gary), Tracy (Bill), Carla (Dale), Elmer (Sue), Mary "Doodar", Clark, Wade, Denise (Steve), Bertha, and Myrna C.; best friends, Vinny Grignon, Jr., Allen O'kimosh, and Dan Blackowl; and godparents, Tracy Wilber and Wade Lyons. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Deidre Peters; paternal grandfather, Elmer N. Denny; maternal grandfather, Gilbert H. Lyons; maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann De La Cruz; great grandmother, Matilda Edna Lyons; aunt, Stephanie Peters; uncles, Peter Kim Denning and Marshall Warrington; and cousin Scott Perez.
Visitation for Danny will be held at the Lisa Lyons residence, N1186 State Highway 47, Keshena, from 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 22, 2020 until the time of procession to the Menominee Nation Cemetery. Prayer service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Lisa Lyons Residence with Nahwahquaw officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating.
