Obituary

Daniel E. Sazama, age 81 of Shawano, passed away on July 3, 2014 of pancreatic cancer. Born on December 24, 1932 in the Town of Seneca, he is the son the late James and Anna (Steinke) Sazama. After graduating from the Gresham High School in 1950, Daniel proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army which took him to Germany. On October 26, 1968, Daniel married Susan Peterson and they made their home in Shawano County where they farmed. Daniel also worked at Pella Insurance for 33 years and was involved in the V.F.W. and the Shawano American Legion. Daniel is survived by: his wife, Susan of Shawano; his daughters, Debra (Michele) and their daughter Addison and Julie (Tom) Feriancek and their sons, Connor, Drake and Grant; his sisters, Mary Ann Hubert of CA, Diane (Dennis) Kuhn of Shawano; and his brother, James (Beverly) Sazama of FL. Preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Elizabeth Priester; and brother-in-law, Anthony Hubert. Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Shawano with the Rev. Mary Trainor officiating. The family will receive friends after 9:00 a.m. on Monday until time of services. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano with Military Rites conducted by Shawano American Legion Post # 117. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
