Darlene Alice "Babe" Svendsen, age 67 of Shawano, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 of natural causes. Born on September 5, 1945 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Adeline (Huebner) Westphal. On August 29, 1965 she was united in marriage to Gary Svendsen in Shawano. Darlene loved being a homemaker and cherished the time it allowed her to spend with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter. She had a passion for cooking and baking and loved watching the birds at her feeders. Darlene was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Darlene is survived by: her husband of 47 years, Gary; children, Randy (Carmen) Svendsen of Rothchild, Jody (Troy) Watters of Shawano, Maxine Rodriguez of Mexico; grandchildren, Ashley, Laura, Megan and Devin Watters; and her many other "adopted" children and grandchildren. A gather will be held at the Svendsen family residence on Saturday, September 15, 2012.
