Darrel Raymond Weckler, age 75, of Wittenberg, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the arms of his loving wife surrounded by his children. Darrel was born in Sturgeon Bay on June 19, 1941, the son of the late Clarence P. and Cebell (Krause) Weckler. On August 14, 1986, he was united in marriage to Roxann Springer in Wausau. Darrel loved horses and was a real cowboy. He loved making maple syrup every spring, hunting, fishing, watching survival shows and shows about Alaska. Darrel had a wonderful sense of humor which will be greatly missed. He always had the ability to make light of every situation and find the humor in it. Working as a boiler maker, he was a proud welder. Darrel was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
Darrel is survived by: his wife, Roxann; their three children, Justin Darrel (Angela) Weckler, Kristin Lyn (Joshua) Thorne and Morgan René "Tiny" Weckler; twins from a previous marriage, Randy (Andra) Weckler and Carrie (Jason) VanSchoiack; 12 grandchildren; and five siblings, Sherwood, Antone, Sherwin, Shirley, and Carol Jean.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one grandson, Derek; three sisters, Evelyn, Isabell, and Sandra; and three brothers, Clarence, Roger, and Orville.
A Celebration of Darrel's life will be held at a later date.
