Darrell James "Minnows" Long, age 62, passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024, surrounded by family in Peshtigo. Minnows was born on May 21, 1961, in Shawano to the late Edward "Sonny" and Maureen "Brown" (Johnson) Long. He earned his GED at MITC. Minnows started a drywall business with Gerald Pecore. He enjoyed golfing, watching Packers and football. Minnows was a lover of country music and always made time for the casino. Everyone was jealous of his beautiful eyelashes. Minnows was known as a ladies' man and could make everyone smile until the very end. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Minnows is survived by his daughters, Teanna (Jay Tourtillott) Davis and Monnaleah Long; grandchildren, Jase Davis, Remy Frechette and Reyniah Frechette; siblings, Jimmy Long, Gina Long, Henry Long, Mike Long, Barbara Long, Beverly Long, Dorothy Long, Donna Long, Patty Long, Jenny Fagan, Annie Long, and Michael Long; and special friends, Duane and Rosie Pecore, Dina Dick, and Lewis Dick. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Minnows is preceded in death by his son, Justin Long; siblings, Ed Long, John Long, Patrick Long, Joann "Pondy" Long; and parents, Sonny and Brown.

A funeral service for Minnows will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday January 27, 2024, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena, with Deacon Mark Fuller officiating. Visitation will be held at the church hall starting on Thursday January 25, 2024, from 4:30 pm until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will be held in the spring at South Branch Cemetery.
