Darwin David Drake

Darwin David Drake, age 84, of Shawano, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home in Shawano. Darwin was born on March 15, 1942, in Clintonville, to the late Oscar and June (Maas) Drake. From 1961 to 1966, Darwin served in the Navy as a weatherman on the USS Watchman and USS Ranger. He was united in marriage to Darlene Drake (Schroeder) on May 27, 1967. Darwin was strong in his faith and was a member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church. He shared a love of animals with his daughter Pam. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Derek and watching sports on TV. He was always up for a competition. Darwin greatly enjoyed his time with his grandchildren, loved sharing stories, and was the family handyman.

Darwin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darlene; children, Pamela Drake and Derek (Courtney) Drake; grandchildren, Sharidan (Avery) Schad, Daxon Drake, and Aliana Drake; great-grandson, Edwin Schad; and sister, Nancy Baker. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Darwin is preceded in death by his parents, June and Oscar Drake; and sister, Deanna (Joseph) Novotny.
