Daryl J. Wayka Daryl James Wayka, age 52 of Neopit, left for the Spirit World on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Born on July 20, 1959 in Shawano, he was the son of the late Marvin and Loretta (LaMotte) Wayka, Sr. Daryl grew up on the Menominee Indian Reservation. In his younger years, he was a Golden Glove Champ in boxing and later did ironwork in the Chicago area. Daryl also worked at the Shawano County Fairgrounds. Daryl loved spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors, going for walks, doing bead work, making gifts for his family, and going to the casino. Daryl was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Daryl is survived by: 2 daughters, Natasha (Leighton Escalante) Wayka of Keshena, Lakeshia (Marshal Tourtillott) Wayka of Keshena; 5 grandchildren, Shaeleigha, Styles Jr., Bernard Jr., Jaela, Saphire; 3 siblings, Lenore Wayka of Neopit, Joan Wayka of Keshena, Wayne Wayka of Green Bay; and a special aunt, Rose Neconish of Keshena. Daryl was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Marvin "Junior" Wayka, Jr.; grandparents, Ernest & Marie Wayka and Joseph & Catherine Odeil LaMotte; and nephew, Randall Vele, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Dorla Boivin residence located at W6506 Wild Rice Court in Neopit after 5pm on Tuesday until the procession leaves for the church on Thursday.
