David Boivin, age 72 of Milwaukee, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 in Milwaukee. Born on September 21, 1939 in Keshena, he was the son of the late Thomas and Virginia (Peterson) Boivin. On May 28, 1960 he was united in marriage to Melva Kinney in Neopit. After marriage, the couple made their home in the Milwaukee area where David worked as a welder at Cooper Welding. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. In his free time, David enjoyed NASCAR racing, fishing, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewer. David is survived by: 4 children, Michael (Carolyn) Boivin of Shawano, David (Bambi) Boivin of Milwaukee, Laurie Boivin of Milwaukee, Leah (Drew) Boivin of Milwaukee; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Jacob, Jessica, Rachel; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, Eugene (Rhonda), Bernard (Delores), Alan (Annette), Ed (Cindy), Paul (Gretchen) and Thomas Boivin; and a sister, Jennifer Boivin. David was preceded in death by: his wife, Melva on October 19, 2011; a daughter, Linda in 2004; a son, Brian in February of this year; his parents; and 2 sisters, Angeline Krause and Mary Anne McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Tuesday from 4-8pm and at the church in Neopit on Wednesday after 10am until the time of the service.
