David Allison Damveld, age 86 of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. David was born on September 19, 1934 to the late Bernardus and Dorothy (Howlett) Damveld in Ottawa County Park Township, Michigan. On June 30, 1956, David was united in marriage to Jessie "Jean" Jensen at St. Therese Church in Wayland, Michigan. While in Michigan David worked in road construction. He moved to Shawano around 1961 to farm in the Town of Richmond. David then moved to Dubois, Wyoming to purchase the Branding Iron Motel. He was a member of the fire department and the Fire Chief in Dubois for many years. David moved back to Shawano in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and model trains.

David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean; children, Paul Damveld, Kenneth Damveld, Barb Sheldon, and Timothy Damveld; 17 grandchildren; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Damveld; parents; and one brother, Bernard Damveld.

A memorial service for David will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil with Fr. Scott Valentyn and Deacon Todd Raether officiating. Burial will be in Dubois, Wyoming. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
