David Ross Helsel, age 44, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home. David was born on June 24, 1981, in Boulder, Colorado, to Richard and Kathleen (Wernli) Helsel. He worked in the quality control department at Novolex for couple of years. David enjoyed hunting with his dad, fishing and loved to have a good IPA.

David is survived by his son, Owynn Helsel; fiancé, Leah Strupp; parents, Richard and Kathleen Helsel: brother, Michael (Kerstin) Helsel; and nieces, Alyssa and Makayla.
