Thompson
February 17, 1969 – July 21, 2025
David C. Thompson, age 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21, 2025, in Crivitz, WI. Born on February 17, 1969, in Shawano to the late David and Colette (Heinz) Thompson. He graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1987 and entered into the United States Army. He served from 1990 to 1995. After being honorably discharged from the Army, David went on to earn his associates degree in transportation logistics at NWTC. David was later united in marriage to the love of his life Mary Corso on December 21, 2018. He was the former owner of Pipeline Bar & Grill in the Town of Breed until July of 2025 when his brother took over.
David is survived by: his wife of 7 years, Mary Thompson; his sons, Matthew (Tahni) Carothers and Kenneth (Courtney) Carothers; his grandchildren, Camdon, Reed, Lacey and Garrett; his brother, Paul Thompson; his sister-in-law Cathi Wielgus; his nieces Nora and Evelyn. He is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents David and Colette and his sister Mary Thompson.
A funeral mass for David will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Visitation will begin on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Swedberg Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service. Military honors will be conducted by the AM VETS at the church following services. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano at a later date.
