Schneider, Sr.
January 27, 1970 – January 28, 2022
Dean Christopher Schneider, Sr., age 52 of South Branch, began his journey on Friday, January 28, 2022, at home surrounded by family. Dean was born on January 27, 1970, to Evelyn L. Nacotee and the late Patrick E. Schneider, Sr., in Neenah, Wisconsin. He attended Neenah High School and graduated with top honors. After graduation, he went to work at Neenah Foundry for several years. He decided to move back home to the reservation and went to work for the Menominee Casino as a blackjack dealer for several years. Dean loved people. He was known for his witty sense of humor. In his younger years, he liked to fish and hunt with his Uncle Tom Sunfish Nacotee. He loved all sports, but his favorites were the Packers and Brewers. He loved to shoot pool with family and friends. Dean put many miles on his life walking from here to there. Dean was a fun, loving, kindhearted person and will be missed by all who knew him.
Dean is survived by: his mother Evelyn Nacotee; his children who were his world, Tiana (Alec) Schneider, Dean (Marilyn) Schneider, Jr., and Justin Schneider; grandchildren, Sheya Mae Magill, William Coy Magill, Lawrence "Bibity" Dodge, Domiah Schneider, and Olivia Schneider; siblings, Mary Borneman, Patrick (Linda) Schneider, Darrell Schneider, Dana (Quas) Waubanascum, Curt Schneider, Kevin (Stephanie) Schneider; Godparent, Jayne Nacotee; and special nephew, Eric Nacotee. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunties.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Patrick Schneider, Sr.; his grandparents: Mitchell and Charlotte Nacotee, and Agnes and Pete Gauthier, Alfred and Mildred Schneider; Godfather, Thomas Sunfish Nacotee, special brothers, Ricky Fisher and Todd Tucker, and nephew, Dominique Sanapaw.
A funeral service for Dean will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Swedberg Funeral Home with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's of the Lake Cemetery South Branch in the spring. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Cady Memorial Home in Birnamwood and Compassus Hospice for their loving care.
