Debra Lynn (Hughes) LaRock, age 60, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Shawano, Wisconsin at ThedaCare Medical Center. Debra, the daughter of James and Barbara (Abernathy) Hughes, was born October 21, 1957 at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama. Debra lived in Shawano, along with her two sons Derek and Ryan LaRock. Debra was an amazing cook, which she had done her whole life, recently cooking at the Torchlite. She enjoyed hosting holidays and family events always cooking big meals and making sure everyone left full. She found most joy in spending as much time as she could with her four grandchildren. She loved playing with them and watching them grow, but most importantly making sure they were always happy. Being a mother and grandmother is what truly made her happy. Debra also enjoyed going to the casino playing slot machines, something she always loved. Debra lived her life to the fullest

, she was a hard worker, who loved chatting with people and making new friends wherever she went with her energetic personality.
Debra is survived by: her parents, James and Barbara Hughes of Cecil; her sons, Derek (Emily Miller) LaRock and Ryan (Ashley) LaRock of Shawano; her grandchildren, Noah LaRock, Briella LaRock and Aubree and Ethan Zastrow; her brothers, Bret (Terri) Hughes of Bonduel, Timothy (Monica Trester) Hughes of Bonduel; her sister, Julie (Duke) Moesch of Shawano; her nephews, Greg Hughes, Josh Hughes and Chad Moesch; her nieces, Jenilee Hughes, Alisha Hughes and Chelsea Moesch; as well as her many friends.
Funeral services for Debra will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
