Obituary

Debra Jean Schindler, age 67, Mountain, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 14, 2018 after her battle with cancer. She was born in Oconto on May 26, 1950, to the late Henry and Ester (DeHart) Holmes. She lived in Mountain most of her life and married John R. Schindler in Mountain on July 2, 1977. She was most known for Deb's Wreaths but also worked in the restaurant business, until her retirement following her husband's passing in 2003. She met her second love, Darrell, shortly after, and together they enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They did a lot of traveling; visiting places from Alaska to the Panama Canal. She enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes, as well as fishing, catching bigger fish than the guys…she was the Small Mouth Bass Queen.

Debbie is survived by: her partner, Darrell Huff and Mr. Magoo; her children, Jody Walske, Cathy Maki, Shannon (John) Granados, Thomas Huff, John R. Schindler Jr., Stephanie Grant, and Nicole Grant; her grandchildren, Sarah, April, Liz, Mindy, Wyatte, Hope, Jacob, John, Mary, Abe, Sam, Kaitlyn, Kayley, Mason; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene and Dianne (Dave); one brother, Timothy; as well as Darrell's siblings and many others.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, John; her parents; and her sister, Sharon Holmes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with Rev. Paul Scheunemann officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the family for a charity of their choice.

The family would like to give special thanks to Unity hospice, Dr. Clayton Keene, the Prevea Clinic, and all the physicians and nurses with the HSHS Hospital network.
