Delores L. Flaig, age 81, of Shawano, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Shawano. Born on January 20, 1930 in the Town of Belle Plaine, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ella Utke. Delores grew up and lived her entire life in Shawano. On April 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Edward H. "Jim" Flaig, Jr. in Shawano. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1976. Delores was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She retired from Eagle Knit in Shawano where she worked as a Supervisor. Delores is survived by: her daughter, Joan (Wayne) Reed of Gillett and their children, Timothy, Tami, Bradley, Brandon and their grandchildren, Mikaela, Joshuah, Macie, Kristin, Ashley, Chase and their great-grandchildren, Jaden, Damien, Jagger, Maddox; her daughter, Judith (David) Reed of Pulaski; her son, James (Lois) Flaig of Shawano and their children, Sara (Ben) Baumann of Appleton, Samantha (Ryan Westphal) Flaig of Kaukauna, Scott (Tomina Marquardt) Flaig of Shawano and their grandchildren Taylor and Aiden Baumann and Ellie and Cora Flaig; her son, Jerry Flaig of FL and his children, Andrew and Kaylee; her son, Jeffrey (Brenda) Flaig of Shawano and their children Jason and Jamie; her son, Jon (Loanne) Flaig of Oshkosh and their children Jessica and Jon II and stepchildren, Danielle Hohner and A.J. Janiak; and her son, Jay (Nancy) Flaig of Bonduel and their son Justin (Samantha) Flaig and their grandson, Braeden. Delores is further survived by: a brother, Lester (Romaine) Utke of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Virginia Utke; and 3 brothers-in-law, Alvin (Ruth) Flaig of Green Bay, Roger (Donna) Flaig of Green Bay, Pilar Flaig of CA, Gordon Flaig of Green Bay, Marcella Cheyka of Shawano and Evelyn (Frank) Ferguson of MI. Delores was preceded in death by: her husband, Edward; her parents; and two brothers, Franklin and Harry Utke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Fred Zimmermann officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4-8pm and at the church on Monday after 10am until the time of the service.
