Pootsal Grosskopf joined her husband, Wally, the love of her life, in eternity on December 6, 2011. She was married to Wally on June 26, 1948. Pootie was much loved by her five children and eighteen grandchildren: Scott and Edi Grosskopf, Shawano and their children Mitch (Erin), Ali and Sol; Wally Gay and Dan Samp, Venice, Florida and their children Tristi (Kevin) Oliveira, Christopher, Skyler, Trevan, Tanner, and Cooper; Tracy and Mike Crawford, Shawano and their children Michaela (Tyler) Wickman and Reed; Heidi and Mike Hahner, Wausau and their children Cody, Kiley and Nick; Trisha and Brian Dall, Town of Erin and their children Briley, Caleb, Kelby, and Jacy. Pootsal was blessed with 4 great grandchildren: Grady, Lincoln, Sawyer, and Charlotte. She was born on June 8, 1929, to Viola and Ernest Neuman and was a sister of Germaine Wisnefske and Roger Neuman. Known for her laughter and constructive criticism (she was never at loss for words or an opinion). Pootsal loved chocolate, Larry King Live, wintering in Florida, a good book, watching Packer games with Mike, and playing bridge. Her Schafkopf however, was not up to Wally's standards. She prepared many feasts for her family and friends always beginning by holding hands and singing the family prayer. For years, she hosted Christmas Eve parties creating special memories with a Gemutlichkeit spirit. Her home was your home and all who entered were treated as family. A master, at times, of trying the patience of loved ones, her giving heart made those memories laughable. People confided in her because of her empathy, insights, and wise counsel. She had a way of getting what she wanted - a job done, a lower price, even talking a grocery store manager into sending a bagboy home with her to unpack her groceries. Though small in stature, she commanded the attention of a room and was the life of a party. Her family and friends find comfort and joy knowing she is with her heavenly father and her partner in life, Wally. We celebrate a life well lived.
