Delores J. Mehlberg Delores J. Mehlberg, age 90 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in Shawano. Born on February 5, 1921 in Beaver Dam, she was the daughter of the late Max and Edna (Young) Gerlicher. After graduating from high school, Delores went on to attend college to become a registered nurse. She worked at the hospital in Beaver Dam during World War II. On April 28, 1946 she was united in marriage to W. Raymond Mehlberg in Beaver Dam. The couple moved to the Shawano area after marriage where Delores worked for a short time at the Shawano Hospital. The couple operated Mehlberg's Bakery on Main Street until 1977. Delores was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also an active member of the Shawano American Legion Auxiliary. During her lifetime, Delores was a licensed private pilot, enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting, going to the casino and playing bridge with her friends. Delores is survived by: her daughter, Lynn (Tom) Brudnicki of Casa Grande, AZ; 2 grandsons, Timothy (Cher) Salzman of Oneida, Joel (Peggi) Salzman of Marinette; 3 great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Tyler, Cody; and a sister, Virginia Capper of Grafton. Delores was preceded in death by: her husband, Raymond on September 24, 2000; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. John Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday after 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
