Obituary

Deloris Rose Engel, age 84, of Shawano, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2017 after suffering from Alzheimers. Deloris was born on November 12, 1933 in the Town of Dupont in Waupaca County to the late Donald and Amanda (Suehring) Briske.  She was a certified nurse's aide and worked at Birch Hill Health Care Center until her retirement in 1995.  Deloris was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano and enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, traveling, fishing and dancing.  She also enjoyed baking and cooking, especially on the weber grill and loved spending time with her family.
Deloris is survived by: her children, Diane (Harley) Lyons of Berry Lake, Daryl Engel of Florida, Judy (Michael) Rosenberg of Shawano, Jill (David) Waupoose of Shawano and Jay (Andrea) Engel of Bonduel; six grandchildren, Jamie, Christie, Derek, Dean, Bennett and Teagan; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by her brother, Ervin (Shirley) Briske; her sister, Joyce Hogan; sister-in-law, Sharon Briske and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Dalton; her parents; her brother, Carl Briske; and brother-in-law, Reeve Hogan.
Funeral services for Deloris will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Hermansfort.  Visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home in Shawano from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
