Denise Nicole Dodge, age 40, passed away on Thursday February 2, 2023, in Green Bay. She was born on May 29, 1982 to Steven Dodge and Marcene Barnes in Shawano WI. She was a member of the graduating class of 1999 from the Menominee Indian High School, and further continued her education at Haskell Indian Nations University and NWTC. Denise dedicated her time to counseling and recovery services, including founding Help Me, Help You, Help Us. She carried a passion for her community and to helping others in need. In Denise's spare time, she enjoyed craftwork such as native beading, making native regalia, and sewing. She also found enjoyment in listening to music. Her children were very important to her, and she loved spending time with them as well as her extended family and friends.
She is survived by: her parents Steven (Faye) Dodge and Marcene (Daryl Wilber) Barnes; her children Connor Pocan and Cheyenne Dodge; her siblings Annie Dodge, Forrest Dodge, Stephanie Dodge, Omaha Tucker and Walker (Trevor) Tucker; her special siblings Carl Barnes, Darwin Barnes, CaraJean Barnes and Jessica Barnes; her special mom Florence Skenandore; her special dad Jimmy Barnes; She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral Mass for Denise will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 4pm until the time of service on Tuesday at church. A prayer service will be held at the Neopit Community Center at 7:00 pm on Monday February 13, 2023.
