Obituary
DENNIS BACHMANN, formerly of Shawano, WI died March 13, 2016 in Kingsford, MI where he was a resident of ManorCare Nursing Home since September, 2015. He had a valiant fight with cancer which started in July, 2015. Dennis was a devoted and conscientious employee of the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 33 years as a signalman, braving all kinds of weather repairing signal crossings throughout the state of Wisconsin from Milwaukee to Hayward. Dennis was a great lover of nature, bird watcher and plant naturalist. He loved to be out in the woods and loved fishing. He enjoyed many fishing trips to Minnesota with his cousins Larry and Virginia Schoen. He loved spending weekends in the summer in Middle Inlet with his wife and family. His loving niece has many fond memories of her visits while growing up. Dennis loved antiques, a hobby he shared with his wife, Gwendolyn (Rein) for 37 years before her death in 1998. He continued the pastime of visiting his favorite shops around the Shawano area where he would find a treasure now and then.
He is survived by: an older brother, Darul Bachmann from Green Bay, WI; a younger sister, Alonda Potts (Bachmann); three nieces, Dawn (Rein) Micolicek, Jennifer (Bachmann) Tilkens and Jean (Bachmann) Darby; and great nieces and nephews who will miss him.
A memorial service is planned for late May, the time and date to announced later.
