Obituary

Dennison Lee Dickenson, age 73 of Neopit, entered the spirit world on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Appleton. Born on June 30, 1942 in Keshena, he is the son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Peters) Dickenson. Dennison was united in marriage to Irene Wilber on May 7, 1966 in Gresham. He was employed in Wausau as a welder/hydraulics specialist for Drott Manufacturing and J.I. Case, until retiring in 1992, at the age of 49. He enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling and bear hunting. He loved horses and in his early years, he enjoyed racing horses at the Menominee County Fair. He was also an early participant in the Shawano Stock Car Races, racing car #104. For many years he trained and mentored many young Menominee boxers, while coaching with the Menominee Indian Boxing Club. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Dennison was the most easy-going, helpful person you could ever meet.
Dennison is survived by his wife, Irene of Neopit; his children, Lisa (Joe) Besaw of Keshena, Michelle Dickenson of Neopit, Michael Dickenson of Neopit, Jeffrey (Jeannine) Dickenson, Sr. of Keshena and Alex "Little Man" (Olga) Peters, Sr. of Keshena; 18 grandchildren, Lori Beth, Joshua, Joseph, Troy, Meshan, Edmond, Tamerin, Dante, Simone, Michael, Jeff Jr., Chelsea, Samantha, Tehya, Layla, Damian, Carmilla and Christopher. He is further survived by 27 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by two granddaughters, Mindy and Abigail Dickenson and three brothers, Llewellyn, Darwin and Wilson Dickenson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dickenson residence, N1448 Hwy 47 in Neopit, on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until the procession leaves for the church on Friday. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
