Dennison Melvin "Denny" Sager, age 82 of Shawano, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday April 5, 2024. Denny was born on October 2, 1941, to the late Willard and Joyce (Bruch) Sager of Black Creek, Wisconsin. He grew up in Black Creek and met and married his high school sweetheart, Roberta "Bobbi" Wassenberg and they were happily married for 56 years. They moved to Loon Lake and raised a family and continued to enjoy the lake life they'd both come to love since childhood. Denny was a court reporter for 37 years, starting in Green Bay and finishing up in Shawano. He enjoyed hunting, seeking out rare finds at auctions with his good friend Don, and he and Bobbi participated in numerous get togethers with lifelong friends from Black Creek and Seymour. An active member of Peace United Church of Christ, he volunteered on council, sang in the choir and helped with many dinners and cook-outs. One of his favorite parts of retirement was being a part of the Friday breakfast club, aptly named the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) club. Denny and Bobbi spent their winters enjoying the Florida sunshine and summers were spent at the lake enjoying beautiful sunsets and pontoon rides with friends and family.

Denny is survived by his wife, Roberta; children, Jess Sager, Hans (Stephanie) Sager and Heidi (Jamie) Cynor; grandchildren, Anna Sager, Kara Sager, Aliya Cynor, Isabella Cynor; and a sister, Natalie Hinze.

A celebration of Denny's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 18, 2024, at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano with Pastor Uriah Williams officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano.
