Dewey Bruce Church I, age 74, of Bowler, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Neenah. He was born on October 7, 1948 in Shawano, to the late Dewey W. Church and Colleen I. (Huff) Bailey. Dewey Graduated from Thunderbird Academy. Dewey served two tours in Vietnam while in the United States Army. He further attended and graduated from Lomalinda University and Northwestern Michigan College. Dewey was united in marriage to Jacqueline Hoadley on April 9, 1973, in Menominee, MI. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2014. He worked for many years at Pine Hills until retiring. Dewey was an avid outdoorsman and was a very humble and loving man. He will be dearly missed.

Dewey is survived by: his children Ted Fraly, Traci Eickenroth, Sonya Church, and Dewey B. Church II; his grandchildren Malachi, Jessica, Cody (Paris), Dillon, Griffon, and Dustin; 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Jeaneen (Ron) Brown, Mary Webster, Faron Bailey, Emerson Bailey Jr., Jeffery Bailey, Terrance Bailey, Dawn Bailey, Sterling (Dora) Bailey, Roni Bailey, Lizette (Basil) Bailey, and Clifford Church. He is further survived by a nation full of numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his wife Jacqueline Church; his parents Dewey and Colleen; his sisters Bridgette Bailey and Rene J. Bailey.

Funeral services will be held for Dewey at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham. Military Honors will conducted by the Gresham American Legion and the Mohican Veterans following the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham and again on Wednesday starting at 11 :00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held in Tustin, Michigan.
