Diana Lee Waukau, age 88 of Neopit, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2026, in Appleton. Born on September 14, 1937, in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (White) Cox Sr. Diana graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1955 and went on to further her education at Milwaukee Business School in Accounting. On July 20, 1957, she was united in marriage to Roger Waukau Sr, at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. He later preceded her in death on December 15, 2011. While raising her family, she worked at the Neopit Public School as a librarian, then at the St. Anthony Resource Center, and finally ending her working career at the Neopit Post Office. Diana was a devoted mother and wife and loved her family. She enjoyed camping, going out to the lake lot, and overall being outside whenever she could. Diana was a caring and generous woman that enjoyed volunteering at St. Anthony’s Parish, especially for the Food Pantry. She always liked cooking and baking. Diana loved her grandchildren dearly and followed their sporting events. She found happiness watching the birds and admiring the flowers. She will be deeply missed.
Diana is survived by: her 4 children, Jacqueline (Dan) Pubanz of Shawano, Reynold (Amy Gansen) Waukau of Lulu Lake, Ron (Beth) Waukau of Keshena; 9 grandchildren, Jessie (Kyle), Josh (Jennifer), Amber, Adrienne, Rochelle, Chelsea, Brianna, R.J., Brayden; and 8 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bella, Beckett, Layken, Quintana, Adrian, Roger, Nikkolas, Jordynn, Carmah, Kayden Jr., and Minnie; her special friends Brenda Gauthier, Barb Warrington, Mary Haack, and Lynette Miller; her siblings, Sharon Quinney, Jana Kenote, Deb Cox, William Cox Jr., and Douglas (Jean) Cox: brother-in-law, Tony Waukau. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Diana was preceded in death by: her husband of 54 years, Roger Sr.; her son, Roger Jr.; her siblings Faye Fish, Karen Waukau and Walter Cox.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Fr. Juan Tejerero officiating. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center after 3:00 pm on Tuesday until the time of the service on Thursday. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:00 pm. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
To those who attend the funeral service on Thursday, please feel free to wear Brewers apparel in honor of Diana.
