Dixon Edwin Kaul, age 93, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Born on March 14, 1923 in Chicago, IL, he is the son of the late Edwin O. and Edna H. (Tegelman) Kaul, who owned a dairy store in Evanston, IL where Dixon went to school. Dick often spent the summers in Winneconne, where his grandparents lived. Dick is a WWII veteran, who served more than three years in the Army signal corp. while stationed in New Guinea, the Phillipenes and Japan. Dick met his future wife, Lucille in Logan, Utah, where he went to school at Utah State University. On graduation day in 1948, the couple married and moved back to Wisconsin. Dick worked for Hewitt Transmission in Neenah followed by C. B. Supply Company in Menasha. He was an avid fisherman and carpenter as long as his health permitted.
Dick is survived by his wife, Lucille; his youngest son, Thomas (Mary) of Menasha; grandchildren, Joe and Ted, both of Madison, Jacob and Patrick of Menasha; a sister-in-law, Betty and her daughter, Karen, who live in suburban Chicago and a daughter-in-law, Joan Bell of Madison.
He is preceded in death by two sons, James and William; his parents; and his brother, Edwin.
Private family services will be held.
