Dolores A. Huntington-Zahringer, age 87 of Shawano, formerly of Gresham, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 7, 1926 in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Zingsheim) Garska. At the age of 10, Dolores and her family moved to Shawano. On April 29, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harry Huntington. Together the couple owned and operated a dairy farm and logging business in Morgan Siding. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1988. On February 14, 1990 she married Anthony Zahringer at the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham where Dolores was a member and sang in the choir. Dolores was a talented vocalist and sang at many weddings and funerals. She enjoyed woodworking and quilting and was a talented seamstress, mender and cake decorator. Dolores is survived by: her husband, Anthony "Tony" Zahringer; 11 children, Joseph Huntington of TX, Bonnie (Robert) Engel of Shawano, Harry "Bud" (Jane) Huntington of Wausau, Esther (Dennis) Schutt of Shawano, Steven (Patricia) Huntington of Two Rivers, Sally (Bob Klesmit) Huntington of Appleton, Tim (Beth) Huntington of Gresham, Wendy (Lee) Hafner of Shawano, Thomas (Lauren) Huntington of MN, Bert (Mary Beth) Huntington of Gresham, Dan (Denise) Huntington of Gresham; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren with another on the way; as well as a great great-granddaughter and a great great-grandson expected soon; 2 sisters, Phyllis Tinsman of Shawano, Mary Jo (Bob) Brunner of Shawano; 3 sisters-in-law, Helen Garska of WV, Delores Ziemer of Shawano, Harriet Brooks of FL; and a brother-in-law, Bert (Carol) Huntington of Shawano. Dolores was preceded in death by: her first husband, Harry Huntington; 2 daughters, Mary Ellen in infancy and Kathleen A. Raasch; her parents; a granddaughter, Kim Huntington; and a brother, Kenneth. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with the Rev. David McElroy O Praem officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Gresham Dollars for Scholars or Safe Haven Domestic Abuse Shelter. Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham is assisting the family with the arrangements.
