Donald R. Grueb, age 89, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023, in Shawano. Donald was born on December 14, 1933, to the late Fred and Hattie (Zimdars) Grueb in the Town of Richmond. On August 8, 1959, Donald was united in marriage to Donna Sperberg in Red River. Donald served his country proudly in the United States Army. He spent most of his life in the Shawano area. Donald worked as an installer for AT&T/Western Electric Company for 30 plus years. Donald retired in his fifties and thoroughly enjoyed his free time. He enjoyed muskie fishing, woodworking, camping with his family every year and traveling.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Lew) Schuettpelz of Shawano; grandchildren Kyle (Danielle) and Kade; siblings, Roger (Millie) Grueb of De Pere and Doris Druckrey of Brown Deer.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; siblings, Rueben, Edna and one brother infancy; parents, Fred and Hattie, his brother-in-law Don Druckery, and his nephew Matthew Grueb.
A funeral service for Donald will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Salem United Methodist Church in Red River with Pastor Daniel Kim officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am on Saturday until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Salem United Methodist Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Shawano Legion Post #117 and the Shawano VFW at the cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers all monetary donations can be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
