Donald L. Waukechon, age 79, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Don was born on June 24, 1946, in Keshena to the late Peter and Delores (Chevalier) Waukechon, Sr. He graduated from Shawano High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country proudly in Vietnam from 1965 until 1967. On December 8, 1973, he was united in marriage to Cindy White in Green Bay. Don worked at Menominee Gas for many years before becoming a Conservation Warden and Police Officer for the Menominee Indian Tribe where he worked for 21 years before retiring. Don was a proud Menominee Warrior and member of the Menominee Warrior Society. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, riding his Harley and being in the woods. Don was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather; he will be deeply missed.

Don is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cindy; children, Colleen (Sosaeh) Connahvichnah, Saswaen Waukechon, Sosaeh (Kristen) Waukechon and Kelly (Rick) Elgersma; his dog and companion, Reno; grandchildren, Buddy (Jacob), Vivica, Hunter, Addie, Ethan, Sam (Brent), Donald (Shaulise), Kingston, Rebecca (Larry), Alyssa, Amber and Alexandria; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jeanette Waukechon, Peter (Catherine) Waukechon, Rita (Marshall) Pecore, JoAnn Elsfelder and Alice Kessen. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; grandson, Kyle; sister, Marguerite Revolinski; parents, Pete and Delores; and good friends, Quil and Sal.

Traditional services will be held at the family home, W2426 Keshena Lake Road, Keshena, WI 54135, beginning Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 5:00 pm and continuing until 7:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026, services will conclude with prayers and military honors.
