Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Donna Linda Janecek of Cecil, Wi on Thursday March 19th at the age of 88 following a brief illness.

Donna was born July 8th, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Edward & Linda (Keller) Berg. Donna lost her mother at a very young age, and her father married her stepmother, Mary.

45 years ago, she married the love of her life Anthony “Tony” Janecek and they moved from Milwaukee to Cecil to share a life with love, family, friends and adventures.

Donna was an avid bowler and was part of and served as president and officer on the Tuesday Afternoon Ladies League for over 40 years and made many friends. In that compacity she became very involved in organizing donations to many charitable organizations, especially dear to her was St. Martins Food Pantry in Cecil. Donna was also involved with the Shawano Archery Club for over 30 years, where she also served as president and an officer and in true Donna fashion made again many friends.

Donna loved many things including her family and friends, sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and reading a good book, her flowers that she put all over the yard, bowling, archery, going to Vegas and other great vacations, her Wednesday dates with Tony to Northstar Casino, going out to eat often so she didn’t have to cook and most of all LOVED Nancy Mitchell’s pickles.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Tony; her daughter, Lynda; her pride and joy her grandchildren, Todd, Nick (Megan), Joseph (Cori) and Matthew (Keeley). Her real joy, her great-grandchildren, Bennett and Addie Ray. She is further survived by her brother, Edward (Bettina) Berg and very special nephew, Glenn (Pam) Reible. Very special friends, Debbie Westphal, Linda Jaskolski and Jacob Zietler; and many other special family and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Raymond Berg, LaVerne Brown and Cathy Doughtry; and her son-in-law, Michael Sommers.

Services will be posted soon.

The family would like to thank ThedaCare Hospital and Sabrina of Hospice Services for the special extended care of Donna. A very special thank you to Dr. Sam of ThedaCare Hospital of Shawano for her thoughtful, sincere and loving care.

She was a Mom and Grandma too many.
