Donna Lee Katzenmeyer, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Evergreen Nursing Home in Shawano. She was a resident there since April of 2015. Donna was born on January 11, 1939, in Shawano to the late Edgar and Eldine (Dickow) Darrow. She was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church in February of 1939 by Rev. William Utech. She attended St. James Luthean School from kindergarten through 8th grade and graduated from Shawano High School in 1957. Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank E. Katzenmeyer, Jr., on April 4, 1959. They spent a wonderful 62 years together before his passing in October of 2021. They loved to go to polka dances and dance the night away. Donna also enjoyed bowling, doing puzzles, and tending to her garden and flower beds. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Steve) Schreiber and Annette (Scott Duttweiler) Hammond; four grandchildren, Ryan (Elena) Martin, Nicole Martin, Alex (Sarah) Schreiber and Lea Konitzer; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (John) Eggert and Sandra Krauski. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Eldine Darrow; husband, Frank; son, David Katzenmeyer; granddaughter, Brittney (Adyson) Noelle Cook; son-in-law, Marvin Hammond; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for Donna will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Lunch to follow service at American Legion Post #117. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
