Donnalea Rae (Hanke) Moede was gathered into the arms of our loving Savior on July 2, 2015. She was born in Shawano, Wisconsin to the late Viola (Norman) and Emil Hanke on June 28, 1935. She was a lifetime member of St. James where she served as a member of Altar Guild for many years. Donna married Harvey Moede on April 26, 1953 at St. James. Together they made their home in Shawano for 62 years. Donna was employed by several businesses but most recently was the bookkeeper for Moede and Sons, Inc. until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed her time at their home on Shawano Lake as well as spending time with friends, especially the "Friday Night Group" that had met for over 30 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and made countless Sunday night suppers for all to enjoy. Donna is survived by her husband, Harvey; her son, Scott (Sue) Moede of Shawano; her daughter, Jayne (special friend Mike Lewandowski) of Shawano; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Jayne Deering of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters-in-law, Olive Perry of Shawano and Betty Hanke of Greenfield, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Viola (Norman) Hanke; her sisters, Ione Hanke and Lenore Zingler; her brothers, Clifford Perry, James and LeRoy Hanke; and brothers-in-law, Norman Deering and Walter Zingler. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials can be made to St. James Lutheran Church heating system fund.
