Donna M. Wetzel, 87, of Baraboo, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.  Donna was born in Gresham, Wisconsin on December 5, 1937, daughter of the late Stuart and Hatie (Fischer) Schabow. Donna was a graduate of Gresham High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing. On May 7, 1959, she was united in marriage to David Wetzel in Washington D.C. She and Dave returned to Gresham for a time before settling in Lancaster where they raised their family.  Donna enjoyed her career working as a nurse in hospitals and at the Orchard Manor long-term care facility in Lancaster. After retiring she and Dave returned to Gresham where they were members of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. In 2017 they moved to Baraboo to be closer to their daughters. Dave preceded Donna in death on November 10, 2021. In her free time Donna enjoyed photography, playing golf, and watching sports. She was an avid Packers, Cubs, and Notre Dame fan.

Donna is survived by her three daughters, Nona (Tim) Burr, Lori Wetzel (Pam Wells), and Jody Bruni; grandchildren, David (Erika) Burr, Gerrit Bruni, Joe Bruni, and Katie Bruni; siblings, Gary (Judy) Schabow, Mary Kersten and Vicki (Bob) Bender; and sister-in-law, Mary Schabow.  She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave; a grandson, Nathan Burr; a brother Arthur Schabow and a brother in infancy.

Donna's family would like to thank Agrace Hospice and the staff at Meadow Ridge Senior Living for their compassionate care of Donna over the past two months.

A Memorial Mass for Donna will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham.  Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the Mass. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Memorials can be made to Madison College Foundation for the D. Wetzel Nursing Scholarship Fund, Agrace Foundation or St. Francis Church.
