Doris Mae Schmidt, age 86, of Bonduel, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Rennes Nursing Home in DePere. Doris was born on January 16, 1933, in the Town of Lessor, to the late Louis and Helen (Heimer) Schmidt. Doris attended school in Landstad until grade 6, she then attended St. Paul Lutheran School for grades 7 and 8, and went on to attend Bonduel High School where she graduated with honors in 1950. Upon graduation she stayed home and assisted her family on their farm. Doris retired from farming in 1991. Upon retiring, Doris pursued her love of gardening and feeding the local birds. She loved to grow vegetables, only to give them away to her neighbors. Doris was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Doris is survived by: three nieces and nephews, Jim Peek of Oconto Falls, Norma (Kenny) LaPlante of Green Bay, and John (Jana) Peek of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a special cousin, LeRoy Schmidt; and special neighbors, Derick and Amy Zernicke and Brad and Pat Leeman.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Louis and Helen; one brother, Eugene Schmidt; and one sister, Lois (Ben) Peek.

A funeral service will be held for Doris at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday at church from 9:30 am until the time of service.
