Dorothy Schreiber, age 103 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at a local nursing home. Born on November 26, 1910 in the Town of Red Springs, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Welch) Bruette. On March 9, 1930 she was united in marriage to Martin Schreiber in Milwaukee. After marriage the couple made their home in the Milwaukee area where Dorothy worked at A & A Manufacturing in West Allis. After moving to the Gresham area, she became a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morgan Siding. Dorothy's life was dedicated to her Lord and to her family. Dorothy is survived by: her 8 children, Betty Mirenda of Wauwatosa, Merlin Schreiber of Shawano, Shirley Hoffman in Gresham, Shelby (Dorothy) Schreiber of Mattoon, Kenneth Schreiber of Shawano, Sharon (Allen) Ebert of Gresham, Jean (Lyle) Grosskopf of Gresham, Lonnie (Joan) Schreiber of Gresham; 33 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by: her husband, Martin on January 28, 2005; a great-grandson, Bobby Richter; her parents; and 9 siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Woodland in Gresham with the Rev. Randy Stocksdale officiating. Burial will be in the Gresham Public Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at the Woodland on Monday from 9:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Assembly of God Church-Morgan Siding.
