Dorothy M. (Pingel) Van Vuren, age 97 of Beaver Dam, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018 surrounded by family member.  Dorothy was born on July 8, 1921 in Pulaski, WI, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Pingel.  She attended schools in Pulaski, Bonduel and Shawano, graduating from DePere High School, where she was able to pursue ballet and dance.  Dorothy attended UW Madison for one year, where she studied music, played violin and studied classical ballet.  On November 8, 1941 Dorothy married Donald Van Vuren in Bonduel.  She was a stay at home mom, raising six children.  Dorothy excelled at sewing and designing clothes for her children.  After her children were grown, Dorothy attended Green Bay Technical Institute to become a licensed real estate broker and a certified soil tester, working mainly in Menominee County.  Later in retirement, embroidery became her favorite hobby; making many wonderful embroidered blankets, pillows and wall hangings for children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Knowing God as a God of love was the driving force in Dorothy's life, prodding her to publish a book, at the age of 90, about Gods love.  Our family has been so blessed to have her in our lives all these years.

Dorothy is survived by:  two daughters, Betty (Nick) Pierce of Cecil and Virginia (Wayne) Abel of Kennan; one son, Terry (Marilee) Van Vuren of Elgin, IL; son-in-law, Bob Kramer of Butler; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; three daughters, Fay (Bob) Franz; Bonnie Kramer and Billie Van Vuren all so loved by her.
