Dorraine Ann Degner, age 88, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2023. She was born on December 16, 1934, in Milwaukee to the late William and Helen (Haufe) Wegner Sr. When Dorraine was five years old she and her family moved to Shawano where she lived out her childhood. She attended Shawano High School and graduated in 1952. She then went back to Milwaukee and worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Dorraine loved to dance, and it was through her dancing that she met the love of her life Robert "Bob" Degner. They united in marriage on May 14, 1972, and the couple lived in Milwaukee until Bob preceded her in death on June 10, 1990. In 2000, Dorraine moved back to Shawano to retire. Dorraine was always a hard worker and was known to always take care of her youngest siblings. Even as she grew older, she was always strong-willed and persistent. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

Dorraine is survived by: her siblings William Wegner Jr., Sonja (Jim) Prellwitz, Jackie Goerl, Dennis (Helen) Wegner, Garth (Linda) Wegner, Reggie (Patti) Wegner, and Scott Wegner; her sister-in-law Nancy Wegner. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband Bob; her parents William and Helen; her brothers Keith Wegner, Robert Wegner, and Warren Wegner; her half-brother Miles Wegner, and all of her in laws.

A funeral service for Dorraine will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday August 3, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at W4496 County Road E, Town of Washington. Pastor Craig Nehring will officiate the service. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Thursday until the time of service. Burial will be held in Valhalla Cemetery on Friday August 4, 2023 at 1:00pm.
