Obituary

Douglas J. Duquain, age 66 of Keshena, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. Doug was born on January 15, 1954, to the late Anthony and Sarah (King) Duquain in Keshena. Doug was a Boy Scout in his youth. He worked for the Menominee County Highway Department where he was a certified heavy equipment operator, 20 years as a logging truck driver, worked for Menominee Transit and for 43 years he was a volunteer firefighter and served as Commissioner for the Menominee County Fire Department. He also served his community as a member of the Menominee County Board of Supervisors. He was an honorary member of the Menominee Veterans for work that he had done in Keshena Park and other various duties done in the community. Doug was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with the Long Marsh Manglers. He had a sense of humor and had a nickname for everyone.

Douglas is survived by his siblings: Sharon Tourtillott, Karon (Jack) Pasterski, Judy Lyons, Jean Corn, Carol (Steve) Schils, Patti Duquain, Duke (Renee) Duquain, Dawn King, Robin Penass, and Tony Duquain; he is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Duquain; sister, Susan Duquain; brothers and sister in law, Matt Tourtillott, Sr., Bert Lyons, Arnold Corn, Jr., and Renee L. Duquain; and nephew, Anthony Penass.

Private family services were held.

It is requested that any monetery contributions for Douglas may be directed to the Veterans of the Menominee Nation.
