Dr. Richard Dalve, age 74, of Bowler passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home. Richard was born on July 11, 1951, on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Minnesota, son of the late Vernon and Marie (Fairbanks) Dalve. On August 21, 2010, Richard was united in marriage to Vicki Martin at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness. Richard proudly served the Stockbridge Munsee community as a family physician for 34 years. He loved watching NASCAR racing, and he had Dalve Motor Sports for over 20 years, and he loved to watch his son and driver, Asa, race stock cars. Vicki and Richard enjoyed traveling, especially with their grandchildren. They made many trips, including traveling to Florida, South Dakota and California. Richard was a family man first and foremost; always taking care of his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; he will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his wife of 15 years, Vicki Dalve; children, Asa Doxtator, Sr., and Tony Doxtator, Sr.; grandchildren, Devon, David, Asa, Jr., Alanna, Adrian, Jade, Dayon, Tony, Jr., Sage, Tristan, Lucas, Keanu, Rhiannon and Beau; a great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; a sister, Patty Greenwalt; brother, Gary Dalve; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Debbie Dalve, Audrey Frank, John Martin, Francis “Dubbie” Martin and Karen Martin. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Dalve; parents, Vernon and Marie Dalve; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry Frank, Larry and Peggy Drephal, Buck Martin, Sandie Martin, Wayne and Janet Martin, Ron and Theresa Martin and Tina Teller.

A funeral service for Richard will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Church of the Wilderness with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm then again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds.
