Obituary

Duane D. "Duke" Moesch, Jr., age 52, of Shawano passed away at home on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Born on May 31, 1965, he is the son of Mitzi (Mason) Moesch and the late Duke Moesch, Sr.  He was born and raised in Shawano and attended Shawano Schools.  On July 7, 1984, he was united in marriage to Julie Hughes at Immanuel Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake.  He loved his job as a truck driver, meeting new people, making new friends and seeing everything through the windshield of his rig.  Duke was once told by a teacher "Nobody will ever pay you to look out a window."  Duke said, "I proved her wrong!"  He enjoyed motor cycling, vacationing with friends and Julie's parents, dining out and socializing.  Duke loved nothing more than spoiling his grandchildren and was doting Papa.
Duke is survived by: his wife, Julie; their children, Chad (Jess) Moesch; Chelsea (Kyle) Moesch; five grandchildren, Dylan, Carter, Kaiden, Delilah and Olivia; his mother, Mitzi Moesch; four siblings, Maria Moesch, Joe Moesch, Diane (Dennis Hein) Moesch and Peter (Mikki) Moesch; and Julie's parents, Jim and Barb Hughes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to Duke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Duke Moesch, Sr. and his sister-in-law, Debbie LaRock.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and again from 9:30 am until the time of the service on Saturday.
