Duane "Dewey" Edward Horne, age 66 of Tilleda, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his home. Born on June 8, 1946 in Waukesha, he was the son of the late Nathan and Juanita (Weber) Horne. He grew up in Sussex and graduated from Arrowhead High School in the year 1964. After high school, Duane enlisted with the United States Marines. After his honorable discharge from service, he worked at Wisconsin Steel and Tube in Milwaukee until he became the proud owner and operator of the Horne'ets Nest in Tilleda for more than 30 years. When not at work, Duane enjoyed outdoors, fishing, hunting, watching sports on TV, playing cards, dartball and pool but his true joy in life came from the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren. Duane is survived by: his son, Clint (Sara) Horne and their two children, Laylah and Nathaniel of Tilleda; his daughter, Tiffany Horne and her son, Silas of Casper, WY; his former wife, Wendy Horne of Tilleda; his 3 sisters, Gail (Bill) Cole of Gillett, Sandie Horne of Hartland, Jeri (Mike) Henman of Mayville; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Seneca Town Hall located at W13104 Cty Road D, Tilleda. A time of sharing will be held at 4:00pm followed by Military Rites conducted by the Gresham American Legion Post #390 at the town hall.
