Waupoose, Sr.
October 4, 1967 – July 26, 2019
Duane A. Waupoose Sr., age 51, of Keshena, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 in Appleton surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Norman and Mary (Brooks) Waupoose, and was born in Keshena on October 4, 1967. He graduated with the class of 1986 from Menominee Indian High School. Duane was united in marriage to Mary Olson on July 14, 2001 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He lived in Keshena for most of his life and worked at MTE as a timber marker and logger, as well as at the Menominee Nation Casino. Duane's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and watching his boys play basketball. Above all else he was a "Dog Man".
Duane is survived by: his wife, Mary; his children, Duane Waupoose, Jr., Derek Waupoose, Dustin Waupoose, Dante Waupoose and Alissa Waupoose; his grandchildren, Duane Waupoose III, Amilli, McCoy, Maliki, Wanaewanet and Kamilla; his brother, Bryant (Tina) Waupoose; his sisters, Muriel Waupoose, Valerie Self and Rose Tucker, and his sister-in-law, Laura Waupoose
He was preceded in death by: his parents and his brothers, Mario Waupoose Sr. and Norman Waupoose Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at St. Michaels's Catholic Church in Keshena with Father Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the family resident, N640 Chief Little Crow Road, Keshena, on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 5pm until the procession leaves for the church on Wednesday.
